 Story image 1_0

The class of 2019 spent four days in Florida this past week for their Senior Trip. The seniors and their two sponsors, Mrs. Shaffer and Mr. McFadden, flew from Denver to Panama City, Florida. The students were able to rent a house that was a short five minute walk to the beach where they were able to snorkel, body surf, and boogie board. During their stay the students were able to go on three separate excursions. To begin their trip the class went on a fine dining dinner cruise on the bay next to the Gulf of Mexico, the dinner cruise consisted of an upper deck where passengers could look out over the town of Destin, Florida. The next day we rented a pontoon boat and three jet ski's and went out to a shallow island where students could snorkel while taking turns riding the jet ski's. Finally, students were able to experience breathing underwater with the SNUBA experience. Participants are given a scuba diving respirator and after a short lesson are able to swim up to 20 feet under water. Our students were able to see Blue Crabs and many different fish species. Our group flew back to Colorado on Monday having had a fantastic trip!
